Andrew
Gelina brings over 12 years of software architecture and development experience
to his role as CEO of Syrinx Consulting, where he is responsible for the
strategic direction, technology focus, operations management, and growth of the
firm.
Prior to joining Syrinx in 2003, Andrew helped build Web Technology Partners
into a leading software engineering consulting firm before selling it in 2000
to Monster.com, the global online career and recruitment resource. During the
next three years at Monster, he developed software and managed projects for
virtually every area of Monster's operations, from CRM integration to
e-commerce to high-traffic, high-volume Web development. He also worked closely
with Microsoft to scale its .NET platform to Monster's huge transaction
volumes.
Andrew has also worked in several other areas of technology leadership,
performing technical due diligence for companies considering acquisitions and
selling professional services. He started his career at EDS, helping them
develop cellular billing and switch interface software to support the emerging
wireless industry.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he
received a bachelor's degree in operations management. Andrew is a member of
the CEO Roundtable of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.
Andrew and his 35-member team work on-site with clients all over New England.
Ryan Thomas has spent more than 11 years in the technology
industry, bringing to his role as Director of the Syrinx SharePoint Practice a
sense of vision, efficiency, and passion for the people and technology within
the organization. He is responsible for the management, operations, and
growth of the rapidly expanding SharePoint Practice within Syrinx.
Prior to joining Syrinx in 2004, Ryan had been consulting with
Monster.com as a key contributor in the architecture and implementation of
their migration to the Microsoft .NET platform. He was part of the team
that designed, built, and released one of the first new Monster.com
applications written entirely in Microsoft .NET and built using the new
architectural paradigms within the organization.
Ryan has previously owned his own consulting company where he
was responsible for technical and administrative leadership of the company and
employees. In this role he and his team assisted many companies in the
Greater Boston Area with technology resources, architectural guidance, and
development experience in Microsoft technologies.
He graduated from the University of Vermont where he received
a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. More recently, Ryan completed a
Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specific on focus on
technology from the University of Phoenix online degree program. He still
maintains his current Microsoft technical certifications as a Microsoft
Certified Professional and Microsoft Certified Application Developer.
Since joining in 2004, Joe Piccirilli has been working with
many of Syrinx’s top clients on Microsoft .Net projects developing Windows,
Web, SharePoint, and Office based applications. Joe has lead and
been a part of teams of all sizes through all phases of project
lifecycles. In his role as Director of the .Net Development Practice at
Syrinx, Joe provides architectural guidance, insight into emerging tools and
technologies, and operational and technical assistance on high-priority
projects.
Before becoming a part of the Syrinx team, Joe worked at
Monster.com by way of the acquisition of Web Technology Partners. At
Monster he worked with the Professional Services team to build customizations
and private label versions of Monster’s various employment assistance
offerings. His contributions spanned much of the organization and allowed
for custom functionality without sacrificing the performance needed to operate
in such a high-traffic environment.
Before Monster and Web Tech Partners, Joe worked for the
Contact and Commercial division of Staples building custom applications and
solutions to meet the varying needs of the business. His accomplishments
there helped the company refine their contract negotiation process to save time
and money and increase overall profitability.
Joe earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Aeronautical Science
from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and holds current technical
certifications as a Microsoft Certified Application Developer.
